The installation 'plastic memories' (AT) is the interim result of two years of research and explores the artificial reproduction of naturalness, examining the boundaries between natural and artificial, inside and outside, analogue and digital. Conceived as a courtyard, a hortus conclusus, it brings the outside in. On display is a square piece of grass that will grow over time, with artificial plants in the spaces between. Two animations of hybrid landscapes are visible from both inside and outside and act as 'windows', revealing an alternative form of naturalness in the space. White casts of tiles, which shatter when stepped on, define the sense of space. The aim of the work is to question the perception of naturalness and artificiality and to create a new aesthetic experience.
