there used to be a different ways

"there used to be a different way" is a spatial installation that adapts to its surroundings and enters into a symbiotic relationship with space, time and material. It is a transit space that offers the possibility of leaving the exhibition space and re-entering it from a different perspective. This performative approach confronts the visitor with a strange, new place. It is the space within a wall that opens up and evokes the feeling of being in-between something. Hidden and unseen, it reveals its metal, plaster, and screws. The installation attempts to address the relevance of identity-forming effects on materials and to show that used matter does not mean uselessness. On the contrary, the effects of space and time shape the material character and make it possible to use the material in a new way, thus influencing the spatial context in a different way. There is always an interaction between time, space and the identity-forming materials of which they are made.
